Karate training outside the Beaconsfield Recreation Center. First training session after the lockdown, what a joyous occasion. Distancing was respected and the session was divided up into warmups, basics, Makiwara on the shields attached to the trees and Kata. A different training mind set. If you don't adapt, you slowly die, so we must do what we must do to keep the flame alive. June 13, 2020 Third session done. Rolling for an hour with these beasts. 5 minute rounds, 1 minute rest between rounds. What an honour and privilege to roll with two black belts, a purple belt and two blue belts. Against the black belts, the song says it all - "killing me softly..." with their BJJ, the others take no survivors. So fortunate to be able to find such a school and such nice people.
